Agnes Agatha 'Gaye' Mitchell

She was a hard worker all of her life and ended her working career retiring from the South Arkansas Surgical Clinic. She then catered her wonderful food for many years. She was a long time, active member of Wyatt Baptist Church.

Gaye was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Donald W. Mitchell, four sisters and three brothers and a daughter in law Nancy Mitchell.

Survivors are two daughters and two sons: Donna Brevard (Rolan) of Hot Springs, AR; William 'Bill' Mitchell (Cindy) of Waxahachie, TX; Polly Ewing (Russ) of O'Fallon, MO. and Steve Mitchell (Carol) of El Dorado.

She is also survived by grandchildren Amy Mitchell Yoder (Clay); Leslie Brevard Luther (Chris); Scott McMahan (Jessica); Jeff Ewing (Abby); Lindsey Brevard (Michelle); John Ewing (Allyson); Hillary Mitchell Zandt (Derek), Steven Allen Mitchell (Marla); Holly Mitchell Oliver (Chris); Clark Mitchell (Amanda); Teri Beth Mitchell Brumley (Jake) and 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law: Delcie Castleman, Pat Reed and Jimmy Jones.

She is also survived by longtime best friend and companion Jim Brown.

The family would like to thank the friends, staff and caregivers of Hudson Memorial Nursing Home and Life Touch Hospice for their kindness and care.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Young's Funeral Directors from noon until 1 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 with a funeral service following with Rev. Bill Odom officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, AR. at 3:30 PM.
