Jim, I know the last several weeks have been unbelievably hard. I also know that there’s a huge hole in your heart right now. Losing your life mate is the hardest thing we face this side of heaven. There will be days ahead that are especially hard and that heighten the loss. The pain will never go away but it will become more bearable. Know that you and Lake have been and will continue to be in Angie’s and my prayers daily. God bless.

God brings people in and out of your life for a reason, I have always believed that to be true. Amy came into my life when we were in the 9th grade, she was new to our class and I instantly knew we would be friends. Amy was always there for me and I her. We went different directions in college but once we were both married we reconnected again. It was like we had never been apart. We just picked up where we left off. A couple of years later life took us down different paths, we stayed in touched and visited a couple of times and then time, life, and distance happened. We talked occasionally and again picking up like we had never been apart. Then Facebook happened and to me it is a wonderful thing to be able to keep up with those that you otherwise may not be able to see. I would think often that I wanted to take the time to go and meet Amy for lunch but never did. I took it for granted that there is always time to reconnect with those that you love. Amy I LOVE YOU, thank you for being a supportive, giving, loving friend!

Ms. Joanne & Julie, Your family has such a special place in my heart. Your home was like a second home for me during my teenage years. Amy wasn't amazing on her on, you helped mold her into the person she was! I love y'all and always will!

Jimmy, you are as amazing as Amy. I can't think about her and not think about you. I love that you allowed me to be a "third wheel" when you and Amy would go out. I can't imagine what you are going through but I am praying for you and I love you!

Lake, I never got the opportunity to meet you in person but I feel as though I know you. I came to one of your football games in Sheridan when you were a senior I believe. I watched you play and at halftime I walked over and saw your mom and dad. That is the last time I saw her. I will be praying for you and your soon to be wife!

Much love and many hugs to all of you! May God surround you with healing love and peace.

Jimmy, we are so very sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers. Maxine Sinclair and Barbara Baumgartner

Coach , your were a big impact on the person I am, and would become. You alone taught me so much . I’m completely heartbroken over the loss of your Amy way too soon! I hurt sooo much for Lake and you. I pray for peace and strength in the days ahead. We will never understand why, I just hope you all can remember the good times and how beautiful she was . I’m am so so sorry for the loss yalls number one lady . My hearts breaks for you !

I have many sweet memories of Amy from early in her teaching career at Oden. She touched the lives of both my son, Quincy and my daughter, Gretchen through her avid support of Jimmy as a coach. My most vivid memory is the amazing support she and Jimmy provided to Gretchen after an injury she suffered in a summer basketball camp in Hooks, TX. As I raced to be by Gretchen's side, I knew she was in good hands with these two. The followup they provided was beyond what I expected. As a fellow and now-retired teacher, I observed and followed Amy through the years, after they left Oden. In my eyes, she was always an exemplary wife, mother and teacher. My prayers go with Jimmy, Lake and family as you grieve the loss of this very special lady.

I pray for comfort for Jimmy and for all of Amy's family and friends. It's very hard for an old teacher to lose a precious student, especially one who grew up to be such an inspiration to and influence on her own students. As a teacher sometimes holds a place in former students' hearts, so do some of those students hold a place in the teacher's heart. Amy, Jimmy, Christy, and Julie are all part of my heart, and Amy's passing will not change that.

Jim,
We never had the privilege of meeting your beautiful wife, but we had the honor of praying for her because of you. Those prayers have a different focus now, but please know that your friends in Tuscaloosa, AL are continuing to lift you up.
In Christ,
Jackie, Cheryl, Suzette, Greg and Ty

Jimmy and Lake,

My continued prayers for you and the entire family. I have fond memories of Amy during our time in El Dorado. You guys were always so nice to Hayden as the boys played Pee wee football. Amy’s impact on the countless number of students she impacted will be felt for years to come.

Amy was a very sweet person! She was a good friend and colleague! I could always walk into her room and she was so sweet to me. She was a good listener. She loved her kinder students. She was a great teacher. I know HG will miss her dearly! Prayers for Jimmy, Lake, and family!

I did not know Amy personally, but on Thursday after the Facebook announcement a precious teary-eyed student in my 5th period high school classroom said:
“Mrs. Harwell, Did you hear about Mrs. Tucker?”
I said “Yes I did.”
She said “She was my kindergarten teacher, and she was wonderful.”
I’d say if your absence makes a high school child and their art teacher cry together, then you must be pretty amazing. We will continue loving your babies Mrs. Tucker! You deserve that!
Prayers for Peace,
Katie, Scott, Gray, and Millye Harwell

Amy Lynn Tucker was a dedicated kindergarten teacher who was truly loved by all of her students. Whenever you saw her she always had a smile.

My condolences to the family. I will be praying for you all in the days ahead.

I am so sorry for your loss. Amy was such a sweet loving person. I remember when Amy and Jimmy were in college at the same time as my daughter, Marla. She was a special friend to Marla. She will be greatly missed!
🙏🙏🙏💕❤️

I like to think I helped bring the two of you together, Jimmy. You were escorting me on homecoming court, and you and Amy were not yet a couple. You’d ask me about Amy, and Amy would ask about you. She adored you even then. Amy was always kind to me. Even when I made stupid-teenager decisions, she was kind when others were not. I will always remember her kindness. Praying for comfort that only God can give you and your family through this loss.

Amy was a lovely person. We loved working with her. She made our business a fun place to work. She will be greatly missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I remember when Amy and Jamie would come to our aunts house and she was in a pretty little dress. we had Easter egg hunts with them also.still cant believe it.

While our community is saddened by the loss of Mrs. Tucker, we are comforted by knowing her positive influence is still with her former students, co-workers, friends and family. Continued prayers for Mr. Tucker, Lake, and her family.

I don’t even know where to begin…. I met Amy over 15 years ago at Yocum. I instantly knew she would be a friend for life. She taught me so much and shared so many things with me teaching. I was always jealous of how she could just sit there and draw some thing out so cute and creative. We also shared recipes, I know every year when I make her Christmas Crock Pot Candy, I will think of her. Even when I left teaching, to be a stay at home mom, she always checked on the kids, and she made Emily lots of cute outfits by drawing on them. Then when I retired to Hugh Goodwin this year, I was so excited to be working with her again.
The first we talked about was cooking, and then we moved on the the wedding plans and her “grand dogs”. Lake, she was so proud of you. She loved you so much, and she always told me what was going on in your life when I saw her.❤️ And Jimmy, she absolutely loved you. We would always talk about our husbands, and she would say “my Jimmy” bc I am married to a “Jimmy” too. So we would always talk about our Jimmy’s. I will miss her so much, but I am taking comfort in the fact that I know exactly where she is because she loves Jesus too. We talked about different devotionals and we prayed for each other during different times in our life. I am praying for “my Jimmy” and Lake, and all her family in the days ahead. It’s amazing the comfort and peace God puts upon on us in difficult times. I am also praying for all our HG family, and community during this time. 💜💜
