Barton Olen Longing

Born on September 25, 1938 in El Dorado, AR, he was the son of Samuel Olen and Dorothy Bright Longing. Barton worked for Columbian Chemical Company in El Dorado and retired as plant Manager. He was member of the First United Methodist Church of Smackover. An Eagle Scout, Barton was an avid bird hunter and outdoorsman. He was also a 32nd ° Mason and Shriner.

Barton was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Peggy Tirk Longing of Smackover, AR; daughters, Donna Steelman (Bunny) of Fordyce, AR, Debora Griffin (David) of El Dorado, AR; sons, Mark Longing (Becky) of Pea Ridge, AR, Mica Longing (Debbie) of Smackover, AR; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Smackover with Rev. Leon Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Directors Tuesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm.
