Belinda Russell Maroney, a lifelong resident of Strong, Arkansas, entered her heavenly residence on November 7, 2025, while she was surrounded by her family at South Arkansas Regional Hospital. She was born on November 25, 1948, to Maxey W. and Jean Gathright Russell.
Those who knew Belinda, knew she loved her family, friends and church fiercely. Belinda loved and followed Jesus Christ and loved spending time reading her Bible daily. She often spoke lovingly about teaching her Sunday School class for almost 25 years. She graduated from Strong High School, where she met and married the love of her life, Jimmy Maroney. She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated Belinda’s Hair Fashions and worked with her best friend, Debra DeFee. Her second home was at the Quachita River, where she spent decades making memories that started when she was a young child playing in the river and ended with her great grandchildren doing the same.
Those greeting her in Heaven are her parents; and brother, Rusty Russell.
Belinda is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Jimmy; son Russ Maroney (Christine) of Brandon, MS; daughter Shannon Carroll (Jim) of Brock, TX; brother Ric Russell of El Dorado; 6 grandchildren: Cole Thomasson (Johnna) of Stephenville, TX; Sydnee Spann (Miller) of Weatherford, TX; Will Maroney and Emily Maroney of Brandon, MS; Jewell Carroll and Sadee Carroll of Brock, TX; and 5 great grandchildren: Sawyer, Blaire, Bellamy, Tate and Mallory.
