She graduated nursing school in 1955 and worked for Warner Brown Hospital and the Medical Center of South Arkansas until retiring in 1999. Betty was a member of Calion First Baptist Church. Those that knew her, knew that her heart belonged to her family and she always put others first. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds come to the feeders on her front porch. She loved hunting and fishing but her passion was cooking. Betty made sure no one left her home hungry or unloved.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, John P. Armer; daughter, Mary Richey; brother, Merle Parker; daughter-in-law, Rosmarie Armer; and son-in-law, Eric Richey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dean Armer; granddaughter, Chasity Sartor; two grandsons, John Allen Armer, Byron "Bubba" Sartor (Sarah); five great grandchildren, Lauren Brown, Faith Sartor, Madison Sartor, Jayce Lane, Bryce Sartor; two brothers, Leo Parker (Margie), Brady Parker (Betty); and sister-in-law, Donna Parker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Young's Chapel with Byron "Bubba" Sartor officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery on Armer Rd. under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
