Betty Andress Ballard

Born February 23, 1929, in El Dorado, Mrs. Ballard was a graduate of El Dorado High School and an art student at Central Baptist College in Conway before marrying her husband, the late Thiel Ballard. Betty was recognized as an outstanding businesswoman in her hometown where she began work as a "runner" for First National Bank in 1956 and concluded her career as Vice-President for Commercial Loans in 1994. She was known for her community involvement and was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church and their choir. In addition to spoiling all the younger members of her family, she loved art, music, pine trees, travel and a hot cup of dark coffee.

She is survived by her son William (Camilla) Ballard; her grandchildren Megara (Justin) Ward, Sam Ballard; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Ballard; great-grandchildren Lucy Anderson, Dylan Ward and Austen Ward. In addition, a devoted circle of extended family and friends give thanks for her life.

Betty is preceded in death by two of her children, Lucy and Timothy Ballard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main St., El Dorado, Arkansas 71730.

Following a private interment, a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. concluding with a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
