Betty Barrett

Born on January 7, 1929 in Brickeys, AR; she was the daughter of Thomas and Francis Ruth Davis Morgan. A homemaker, Betty had worked as a waitress at the old Coffee Cup restaurant and later for Southern Folders. She was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the church's Joy Club. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and tending to her flowers; but caring for her family was her biggest joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bobby Barrett, a brother John "C.T." Morgan, and her husband of 47 years William "Bill" Barrett Jr.

Survivors are her sons James (Denise) Barrett of El Dorado, Steve (Linda) Calk of Spearsville, LA, Ronnie (Phyllis) Calk of Shreveport,LA, a daughter Sherry (Luther) Mizell of W. Monroe, LA. along with 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one expected and 1 great great grandchildren and one expected.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to her caregivers Lynne Cameron, Quinta Dixon, Tequila Hicks, Meagan Lambert and Life Touch Hospice.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at Young's Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Interment will follow at Burns Ebenezer Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
