Betty Marie Johnson, 73 of Norphlet went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at her residence.
Born February 16, 1950 in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Charles and Helen Marie Murphy Bales.
Betty loved taking care of people which fed her passion of nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and Surgical Nurse, working side by side with Dr. Robert Murfee for 34 years at the Urology Clinic. She finished her career in the Operating Room as a Surgical Nurse at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norphlet.
Preceding her in death were her mother and a sister, Kelly Harrison Blackwood.
Those left to miss her loving smile are her husband, Ed Johnson, two daughters, Ange Bintliff (Matthew) of Conway and Brittney McVay (Adrion Jones) of Smackover and a stepson, Louis Johnson (Tabi) of El Dorado. She is also leaving behind her father, Charles Bales and one brother, Randall Harrison (Debra) of Norphlet along with grandchildren, Mason Bintliff, Chloe Bintliff, Tanner McVay, Taylon McVay, Emalynn Johnson and Tyson Johnson, one great-grandchild, Gianni Burns, one special lifelong best friend/cousin Phyllis Strachan (Charlie) of Norphlet, and a host of precious family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in the chapel of Young's Funeral Directors of Norphlet with services at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Wills officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction Young's Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be John Bolding, Allen Williams, Casey Williams, Thad Mason, Earl Cook, and Todd Burke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Murphy, Steve Mason, Jerry Langley, Jim Crotty, and Wesley Nordmeyer.
