Betty Joyce “Bootsie” Lindsley Kornegay, 87, of El Dorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 7, 2016.
She was born to the late R. A. Lindsley and late Corrine Hartsel Lindsley on January 11, 1929 in Scott County, Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Ward “Buddy” Kornegay, Jr.
Bootsie is survived by her children, Alan Kornegay and wife Diane of Jonesboro, and Chris Kornegay and wife Denise of Paris, Texas; three grandchildren, Jake Kornegay, Nicholas Kornegay and wife Angela, and Natalie Wash and husband Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Elliott Kornegay.
Visitation will be held at Young’s Funeral Directors at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 11, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Life Touch Hospice and Courtyard Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Bootsie was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church and later moved her membership to West Side Baptist Church. An avid reader, she was a long-time patron of Barton Library. The family has requested in lieu of flowers to make memorials in her honor to the church at 2400 West Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730, or to Barton Library, 200 East 5th, El Dorado, AR 71730.
