Betty Janell Pope

She was born January 26, 1931 in El Dorado and was the daughter of Sidney Carroll and Evelyn Barringer McGarity. Betty Janelle retired from Wal-Mart and was of the Baptist faith. She was voted the 2009 Nursing Home Queen.

Preceding her in death are her parents, five brothers and one sister, Billy E. Harber, Phillip R. Haber, June McGarity, Rodney McGarity, Richard (Blue) McGarity and James McGarity.

Survivors include her son, B.J. Lee, Jr. of El Dorado; a daughter, Therasa Lee; a brother, Carroll B. McGarity (Dorothy) of El Dorado; one granddaughter, Alison Glenn; one grandson, Brian Lee; one great grandson, Trey Glenn; a special sister-in-law, Barbara Lowery Harber; sisters-in-law; Barbara Stocks Harber, Barbara McGarity, Clara McGarity and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Young’s. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. The family has requested that everyone please dress casual for the service.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
