Bill J. Davis

Born January 24, 1928 in El Dorado, he was the son of John Coy and Gladys Ford Davis. Mr. Davis attended the University of Arkansas before his employment with Monsanto Chemical Company. He later was admitted to the Vanderbilt University Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate. He was a member in good standing with the Arkansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. He also served in the U. S. Navy with the submarine corps.

Bill was a charter member of the College Avenue Church of Christ where he was involved in many expansions and fundraising efforts. He had volunteered as a cook with Kamp Kurios Ministry at Beech Springs. Bill was also a long time member of the Beech Creek Hunting Club.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were two brothers, Dr. Malcolm Davis and Dr. Jack Davis, his extended family members, Wattie D. and Willa M. Hooker and a close friend, William Allen.

Bill is survived by his sisters, Yvonne Davis of Sherwood, AR and Mary Joy Tuley (Jim) of Roswell, GA and three nephews, Jim Tuley (Lynn) of Villa Rica, GA, Jeff Tuley (Julie) of Nashville, TN, and Jon Tuley (Jenny) of Atlanta, GA along with a great-nephew, Jacob Tuley and great nieces, Elizabeth Tuley and Kathryn Tuley. Also surviving is Bill’s extended family, Jack and Jane Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds, Brandie Reynolds, Wallace, Warren and Wilson Reynolds, Sarah and Mark Wilson, Rowe Wilson and Anna Reynolds. Also included are Jim and Alma Williamson, Dineen Allen, Brennan Allen and Tanner Allen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at College Avenue Church of Christ with Dan Williams and Kent Jobe officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

A visitation with the family will be held at the Church one hour prior to the service.
