

Brenda served faithfully as the financial secretary at West Side Baptist Church for 35 years and was a devoted member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.
She enjoyed walking in the woods, going to the gym, attending her grandboys’ sporting and band events, taking care of her cats and dogs, fishing, and working in the yard. She had an excellent green thumb and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandboys. She loved worshiping Jesus and always had spiritual advice. Brenda was married to Gary for 43 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Hammett; daughters, Calli Sampson (Jonathan), Jessica Hammett; son, Lane Hammett (Hannah) all of El Dorado; her parents, Robert and Jo Ellen Adams Stevens of Bernice, LA; sisters, Tammy Pilgreen (Johnny) of Vienna, LA, Kara Taylor (Mike) of Spearsville, LA; grandchildren, Callen Sampson, Brendan Sampson, Justin Hammett; and several nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her very much.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025 at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Cody Lain, Rev. David Voss and Rev. Dano Rainer officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Three Creeks Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
