Bruce E. Mason, 67, of El Dorado passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born September 22, 1946 in El Dorado, AR to Renyard Mason and Oletha Mason Reynolds. He was an Air Force Vietnam War Veteran and retired from Dupont in Orange, TX after 30 years of service as a supervisor. He was a graduate of Southern State in Magnolia, was member of Westside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a member of the choir, on the school board of Westside Christian School and was on the finance committee. Bruce was a loving and devoted husband, son, father grandfather and servant of the Lord. Bruce was an avid outdoors man and loved nature.

Preceding him in death are his father Renyard Mason, step-father, Decimus Reynolds II and step-brother, Deci Reynolds III.

Survivors include his wife Linda Wilson Mason of El Dorado; his mother, Oletha Mason Reynolds of El Dorado; two daughters, Carol Renea Bufkin (Jamie) of Lufkin, TX and Robin Hallmark (Derek) of Augusta, KS; a step-brother, Jack Reynolds of El Dorado; a step-sister, Ruth Reynolds of TN; sisters-in-law, Kay Kirkland of Longview, TX and Charlotte Drummond of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Blake and Emily Bufkin and Chase, Claire and Brock Hallmark; nephews, David and Deci Reynolds and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Sparks, Rev. Gerald Perry and Rev. Andy Whitton officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 Thursday night at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 2400 West Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730.

I am so sorry to hear of Bruce's death.From reading his obituary, I know that Bruce is with Jesus Christ in heaven. He is in a better place than we are.

I wish I could attend the funeral in El Dorado. Betty & I live in Nashville, TN.

You and your family are in both mine and Betty's prayers at this time.

I was looking forward to seeing Bruce and you at the class reunion in June. I hope you will still attend.
