Clifford Earl Batte, 90, of El Dorado entered his Heavenly home on Saturday September 21, at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. He was born August 27, 1929 to Arthur James Batte and Lena Mae Bohn Batte in Fouke, Arkansas.
He was a current member of Beacon Fellowship Church and a past member of Parkers Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a loving Husband, Father, and "Papa". He was always willing to help, and eager to share his life stories. He enjoyed fellowshipping with others and sharing how good the Lord had been to him. He was the best storyteller ever to his granddaughters who loved his 'Pooch" stories. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a past member of the Parkers Chapel water board, and a retiree of Lion Oil.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 61 years, Nelda; Son, Timothy Brian; Brothers Leon, Jimmy, and Preston Batte; Sisters, Jeanie Eaton and Learlene Heischman.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy (Robbie) Lee of El Dorado; Brother, Cleve (Nelda) Batte of Texarkana; Sister, Dianne Pilgreen of Fouke; Grandchildren, Breanna Lee of Hot Springs, Cristen (Blake) Colclasure of Alexander, and Rebekah Lee of Little Rock; Great-Grandaughter, Kinlee Colclasure of Alexander; Great-Grandson Connor Colclasure of Alexander; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Young's Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Parkers Chapel United Methodist with Pastor Mary Beth Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
