David Richard Daniel

Born December 23, 1961 in El Dorado, he was the son of Melvern Freeman and Betty Virginia Horne Daniel.

Richard was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. After years of teaching science at Junction City High School he went to work full time in the oilfield. He was president of Daniel Operating, Inc., an independent oil producer.

He lived for his family, and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a proud member of the NRA. Richard was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife Diana Eakin Daniel, one son David Daniel both of El Dorado and three daughters, Jenna Pagan (Robert) of El Dorado, Christy Palmer (Jeffrey) and Leslie Hester (Joe Lee) all of Benton, AR. Also surviving is his father, Freeman Daniel of El Dorado and grandchildren, Cameron and Jared Palmer, Hannah and Andie Hester, Lena Rae Pagan and Dawson Noah Daniel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 10, 2013 in the chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Young’s.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Perry, Eric Perry, Joe Lee Hester, Jeff Palmer, Sandy Daniel, and Doug Primm.
