David Carroll Risinger, age 75, passed away on April 15, 2019. David, was born November 18, 1943 in Spearsville, Louisiana. He was raised on a peach farm and lived on the same land his entire life. David served in the Air Force National Guard. He was a cattle farmer, avid hunter, and loved the outdoors.
David was known for his gentle nature and kind spirit. He greeted everyone with a smile. David enjoyed the simple things in life and did not require material things to be content. Although very shy and quiet, David established many cherished friendships over the years. Having never married, he developed a very close bond with his siblings. Specifically, his late sister Lou Ellen handled all of David’s business affairs and was his hunting partner. Most recently, his sister Julie moved in with him to be his caregiver; and his brother, Joe Mack, went to check on David every day.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Minor Joe and Estelle Hollis Risinger; sisters, Lou Ellen Risinger Webb and Gayle Risinger Grigsby; brother-in-law and devoted friend, Glenn Grigsby; and brother, Perry Risinger. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Julia Risinger Evans; and brother, Joe Mack Risinger; sister-in-laws, Carolyn (Joe Mack) and Barbara (Perry) Risinger; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbors.
A graveside service, officiated by Tommy Bennett, will be held at the Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
