Donald Ray Newman

Donald Ray Newman,86 of El Dorado passed away June 24 at Courtyard Health and Rehabilitation. He was the son of Benton Albert and Mary Louise Roan Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers A.G. and Bobby Newman.

He is survived by two nephews and a niece. He was retired from Monsanto Chemical Company. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Pines Hills Country Club. He was an avid fan of the Razorback Sports Teams and the sport of kings, horse racing. He always had a package of gum for his friends.

Although he had a small biological family, he had a large “adopted” family that loved and cared for him. A small portion of this family included Dr. Rick and Teresa Brown, Bubba Points, Karen and Mark Stringer, the ladies at the Town House Restaurant, Sam Crawford, and Mike Diliberto of Metarie ,LA.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday June 27, 2017, 12:00 pm at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
