She was born May 10, 1940 to Vernon Preston Ward and Sarah Alice Wallace Ward in El Dorado, Arkansas. Dorothy was elected Union County Tax Collector in 1996, holding that position for 20 years, having worked in the department a total of 40 years. She loved caring for and providing for her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband John Raley; son John Taylor, a brother-in-law Doyle Roberson and nephew Ken Roberson.
Survivors include her son Mark Taylor (Becky) of Simsboro, LA; daughter Susan Cragar (Em ) of Springhill, TN; sister Margaret Callihan (Jesse) of El Dorado; grandchildren Preston Cragar (Megan), Josh Cragar, Cori Richerson (Josh); great grandchildren Alice Cragar, Taylor Cragar and Case Taylor Richerson; great nephews Sam Roberson and Dylan Hayes and niece Alexis Roberson.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 8, 2019 at Young’s.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Young’s Chapel with Judge Mike Dumas officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
