

Dorothy Ann Norton Wright passed away January 31, 2016 in Houston, Texas at the home of her daughter. She was born in Woodlawn, Arkansas on January 12, 1929 to Voy Russell Norton and Lula Mae Berry Norton.
The eldest of six children, Dorothy was raised in the south Arkansas countryside where her childhood was filled with family, hard work and Christian values. She married her husband James Albert Wright, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas on August 18, 1951. They moved to El Dorado shortly thereafter where they raised their family.
Dorothy was a devoted mother to three children, loving Mamaw to nine grandchildren and proud great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, card games and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Loyd and Voy Ray Norton, and her sister Joyce Norton Mullins.
Dorothy is survived by her children Lou Ann Bussey (Richard) of Houston, Texas, Linda Cotter (Jim) of Louisville, Kentucky and Charles “Chuck” Wright (Diane) of El Dorado, Arkansas; her brother Travis Norton (Pat) of Calmer, Arkansas and her sister Marnelle Clement of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren Audra, Clint, Mitch, Leslie, Mark, Suzanne, Angela, Meredith and Daniel as well as great-grandchildren Savannah, Braden, Logan, Nathan, Blake, Peyton, Natalie, Grady and Paisley.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at Young’s Funeral Directors from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Union Baptist Church with the Reverend Jonathan Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
