Ganata Jo Deason

Born July 30, 1928 in Smackover she was the daughter of William Newton and Estelle Rogers Hight. Jo was a member of the Mt. Holly Presbyterian Church as well as a member of the Mt. Holly W.O.C.

She had worked at the Children’s Clinic as an LPN and a nurse receptionist. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and caring for her family and beloved cats.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was an infant sister.

Survivors include her husband, Horace James “Little Man” Deason of Mt. Holly, a son William Shane (Connie) of Mt. Holly, a granddaughter, Amber M. Dews (Lamar) of Magnolia, a grandson, Chase Deason of Mt. Holly and two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Dylan Dews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Young’s chapel with Rev. Larry Goza officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery near Mt. Holly under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Young’s Funeral Directors.
