Gerald Wayne Cameron

Gerald attended Wesson School for seven years and Junction City School for five years. After graduation Gerald joined the Air Force, retiring in 1978 after 26 years serving his country, at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During his time in the Air Force, Gerald was stationed in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Michigan, Nevada, Alaska, California, Guam, Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines. While stationed in California Gerald attained an Associate degree from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria.

After retiring from the Air Force he worked for Sloan Construction in Houston, Texas, and Ensco Inc. in El Dorado, Arkansas. He drove a school bus in Parkers Chapel and Camden, Arkansas for ten years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Mattie Mae Cameron, brothers, Jack and Don Cameron and sisters, Maxine Hines and Hilda Holder.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruby Short Cameron, two sons, Steven and wife Patty of Luckey, Ohio, Michael and wife Lora of Forney, Texas, and surviving sister Pat Cameron Northcutt and husband Wayne of Levelland, Texas, grand children, Ben and wife Stacey of Pemberville, Ohio, Katie of Pemberville, Ohio, Dylan and wife Mackenzie of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Alex of Walbridge, Ohio, Nick and wife Stephanie of Camden, Arkansas, Jamie and husband Jordan of Deland, Florida and Bailey of Forney, Texas, four great grandchildren, Aydan, Isabella, Kaityln and Blakelee.

Family will be receiving guests at 1 pm Saturday at Young's Funeral Directors.

A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 with Rev. Denny Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Scotland Cemetery in Junction City, Arkansas.
