Gordon was born on September 27, 1951, in Corpus Christie, Texas, to James Gerard Gaspard and Doris Friend Gaspard. At the age of three, Gordon moved to Waldo, AR to live with his aunt and uncle, Loyd and Opal Cloud, where he attended elementary school. In 1963, they moved to El Dorado where Gordon continued his education, graduating from El Dorado High in 1970. Shortly after his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1970-1974, on the USS Stribling and the USS Vallejo.
After his military service, he worked as a pipe fitter in various states across the country until 1982. Gordon worked at Great Lakes Chemical for several years after which he worked as a salesman for several local car dealerships. In 1994, he moved to Texas where he continued working in the car business before returning to work in the construction and pipefitting business.
Gordon loved hunting, fishing, playing pool, and the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all he loved his family, his country, and his many friends. He loved life and never met a stranger. Gordon was particularly proud of his service in the Navy.
He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, James and Rena Gaspard of Baton Rouge, LA; his mother, Doris House of Joshua, TX; and Opal and Loyd Cloud of El Dorado, AR who raised him from the age of three and of whom he had the utmost adoration and respect.
