Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Charles, her husband of 57 years, made many road trips to support each of them in their various activities. After her marriage to Charles she became a very faithful Razorback fan and remained so for 50 plus years. Football, basketball, baseball and track, she loved them all.
Helen loved her church, the First Baptist Church of Norphlet and served as church secretary for 34 years. She felt it was her “calling”.
Preceding her in death by her parents, and a daughter, Kelly Harrison Blackwood, two sisters, Orine Murphy and Mildred Anderson and six brothers, Ira, Harry, Homer, Paul, Joe and Hardin Murphy.
Those left to miss her loving smile are her husband, Charles; daughter, Betty Johnson (Ed); son, Randy Harrison (Debra) of Norphlet; 5 grandchildren, Ange Bintliff (Matthew) of Conway, Brittney McVay of Smackover, Louis Johnson of Norphlet, Chelsea Brocato of North Carolina and Greg Harrison (Kelli) of El Dorado; great grandchildren, Tanner, Taylon, Mason, Chloe, Jolena, Emma, Tyson, Maddie, Will, Hunter, Tripp, Louie, Matthew and Chase; sister, Sally Munson of Colorado and special niece, Phyllis Strachan (Charlie) of Norphlet.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 with funeral services to be held at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Norphlet with Rev. Gerald Perry, Rev. Eddie Anderson and Rev. Doug Wills officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Langley, John Bolding, Mike Nash, Louie Johnson, Earl Cook and Charlie Strachan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Nash, Jim Crotty, Bobby Love, Larry Murphy, Wes Nordmeyer and Cotton Jones.
