Hurshel "Dick" Hiett Jr.

He was born January 9, 1927, to Hurshel D., Sr. and Annie Russell Hiett in Pineywood, MS. Hurshel enjoyed all sports, sports trivia and playing dominoes with his friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 35 years, Pearl Curtis Hiett; and son-in-law, J.K. McCoy.

Survivors include his son, Hurshel “Derry” Hiett, III (Marcia) of Calion, daughter, Brenda McCoy of Monroe, LA; eight grandchildren, Bianca Johnson of Longview, TX, Jennifer Hiett of Brawley, CA, Michael Hiett of Brawley, CA, GalynWooldridge-Woerner of Marble Falls, TX, Lance Wooldridge of Brentwood, TN, Jason Wooldridge of Calion, AR, Mark K. McCoy of Monroe, LA, Matthew McCoy of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Jean Clair Curtis (Doris) of Meridian, MS, Dorothy Blair of Florence, MS; one brother, Dewey Hiett (Claudia) of Spring, TX; fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, in the Magnolia Room at Young’s Funeral Directors.
