Ida Bell Ramsey

Ida Bell Ramsey, 86 of Smackover, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. She was born July 22, 1927, to Clyde Hubert and Thelma Orene Crumpton Hinson in Hall Summitt, LA.

Grandma Ramsey, as she was affectionately known by all her family, centered her life around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was member of Joyce City Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Ralph Raymond Ramsey, Sr.; and three brothers, Buddy, Gordon and Jay Hinson.

Survivors include four sons, Ralph Raymond Ramsey, Jr. (Marla) of Hot Springs, Bo Allen Ramsey, Jerry Ramsey (Debbie), Howard Ramsey (Lauralyn) all of Smackover; one daughter, Rhonda Dorflinger (Mike) of Camden; sister, Virginia Todd of Arcadia, LA; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at Young’s.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at First United Methodist Church of Smackover with Rev. Leon Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
