James R. Ronnie Harrison

James R. “Ronnie” Harrison, 77, of El Dorado, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born June 21, 1939, to A.J. “Red” and Hazel Viola Stegall Harrison in El Dorado, AR.

In his youth, Ronnie lead the singing at East Faulkner Church of Christ and considered a career in the ministry. Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

He worked with his father at A.J. Harrison Wholesaler’s in El Dorado, and managed the Union County Recreational Complex for 16 years, and later worked as a jailer for the Union County Sheriff’s Department. He was a people person and fortunate enough to be blessed with many friends and two amazing families.

Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, James “Jamie” Harrison; and two sisters, Lynda Harrison Nolan, and Joan Harrison Flournoy.

Survivors include his daughter, Shona Christy (Richard) of Crossett, AR; son, Jeremy Harrison (Dee Dee) of El Dorado; sister, Judy Reynolds (Mike) of El Dorado; grandchildren John Michael Stewart, Liam Elliot Harrison and Candance Hunt Edgar; great grandchildren Addison, Caleb and Kimrey Christy. Along with his second family of Betty Rogers; Michael Loftin (Phena), Josh Misenheimer, Amanda Misenheimer; Meagan Post (Seth); Brandon Loftin, Allison Loftin, Julianne Loftin; and longtime friends Jimmy and Shelly Kuhn; along with several nieces and nephews

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, in the Chapel of Young’s Funeral Directors, with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service time.

The family would like to thank Dr. George Smith and Dee Dee Harrison along with the staff of LifeTouch Hospice for the loving care they provided Ronnie.
