Jean Moore Nixon, 85, of El Dorado, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 10, 1940 to Henry Moore Junior and Katie Hudgens Moore in Monticello, AR.
Before her retirement, Jean was a teacher for the El Dorado school district at Barton Junior High and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents, were her brother, Bobby C. Moore, and his wife, Beverly.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joseph Nixon, her son, Joshua Moore Nixon of Maumelle, AR, and grandson, Xon David Nixon of Hot Springs, AR.
Memorial services will be held at 10 AM on May 1, 2026 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Janice West officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
