

Jean Amason Walden “Mama Jean”, 85 of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. She was born August 14, 1927, to Charlie Willie and Susie Ieula McGowen Amason in Calion, AR.
She worked as the Assistant Comptroller for 28 years at MacMillian Oil Company before her retirement.
Jean was also owner/operator, along with her husband, of Willies Oasis at Strong. She was a member of East Main Baptist Church and over the years, she became known as a mother to many.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and her husband, Billy Pat Walden.
Survivors include her two sons, Stephen P. “Steve” Walden (Cindy) of Calion, Toby W. Walden (Nicki) of Strong; a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Walden Amedee (Sid J.) of Elkins, AR; three brothers, Charles Murray Amason, Sr. of Calion, William Noel Amason (Tanya) of Little Rock, James Randall Amason, Sr. of Calion; two sisters, Rosa Muriel Langley of Smackover, Alberta L. Denham (Gwayne) of Bossier City, LA; twelve grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Walden McCarty, Michael R. Garrett (Gina) Stefani M. Hodges (Robert), Patty J. Walden (Jana Pruitt), William M. Walden (Kari), Keely Ann Cook, Kip Amedee, Dylan Amedee (Leslie Graves), Taylor Amedee, Luke Walden, Zachary Walden, Seth Hatcher; twenty-two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Bobby Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will be at the home of J. Randy Amason, 589 Country Rd., Calion, AR .
