Jeanette B. Anderson
October 5, 1920 – May 10, 2019
Grace Jeanette Anderson went home to be with the Lord May 10, 2019 at the age of 98. A native-born and long-time resident of El Dorado, Arkansas, she passed away peacefully in Sunset Beach, California surrounded by family. She was born on October 5, 1920 to parents Homer and Ronda Bird.
Jeanette graduated El Dorado High School in 1938 and was crowned the first Union County Fair Queen in November of that year. She was all excitement and nerves, barely knowing how to feed a chicken let alone ride a horse, and during her celebratory ride through the arena, she fell off, reminding us that you do not need to be perfect to be queen!
After graduation, she worked at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for two years, from 1938-1940. She was so petite she had to use a stool to reach the switchboard.
Jeanette was the devoted wife of her high school sweetheart, Thomas Joe Anderson. They were married on October 29, 1941 in La Porte, Indiana. Jeanette and Joe built their life together with love and resourcefulness, knowing how to make a lot from a little.
Jeanette and Joe were charter members of East Main Baptist Church, founded in 1956. Jeanette worked in ministry, providing floral arrangements and volunteering at dinners and banquets.
Jeanette had a talent for sewing and made clothes for everyone from day dresses to wedding dresses. Her artistry blessed her friends and family and was reflected in her beautiful home. Today, her great grandbabies play with stuffed rabbits she made decades ago.
Jeanette is survived by two children: Ronda Jo Anderson Dubar and Chris Thomas Anderson; one daughter-in-law: Diana Wood Anderson; one sister-in-law: Mary Sue Henry; one niece: Rachel Nix; six grandchildren: Pat Dubar, Courtney Dubar, Rob Dubar, Channon Warren, Amanda Anderson, and Nolan Anderson; twelve great grandchildren: Courtney Suitor, Tori Shaft, Skyler Dubar, Shane Dubar, Mowe Dubar, Steele Dubar, Treyce Warren, Ella Dubar, Darby Warren, James Breckenridge, Scarlet Dubar, and Milo Dubar; and four great-great grandchildren: Winston Suitor, Willow Suitor, Winter Suitor, and Charlie Bird Shaft.
Jeanette is welcomed into heaven by her parents, loving husband, and one child, Ronnie Anderson. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jeanette’s life on Saturday, May 25 at Young’s Funeral Home, 508 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, Arkansas 71730. Visitation from 10am-12pm. Memorial service and burial immediately following, officiated by Brother Benjy McCann and Truett Camp.
Pallbearers attending are Chris Anderson, Rob Dubar, Walter Reed, Wayne Nix, Ronnie Traylor, and David Morris.

There is so many memories I have of this precious lady it is hard to mention only one or two.
I never wonder where my mother, Clara Phillips, was when I got off the bus. She could be found every week day at either Ms. Bird's or Mrs. Anderson's for coffee.
I was also one of the lucky ones that she made my wedding gown and going away dress, my bouquet, and decorations.
I would call Ronda over the past view year hoping she would say they were going to make another trip home, but knew her health would not allow this.
She will be missed.
Love to all

Mrs. Anderson was on of the greatest influences in my life. She was a strong Christian woman who had talents that I admired as a youngster growing up visiting in her home. She had a fabulous laugh and loved her family and had fun running her home, taking time to give her wisdom to children visiting her children. I admired her so for her talents and discipline she taught me. Her influence on my life is so appreciated. I truly loved this lady.
