Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy departed this life at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Arkansas at 4:30 p.m. on September 9, 2026.

At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Mt. Sinia Freewill Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to My Father’s House, where he served faithfully.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Vernest and Maggie Mae Johnson, one brother, Vernell Johnson, his maternal grandparents, Arlie and Lillie Ailes, his paternal grandparents, George Primm and Fronia Halton, along with his wives, Vera and Ava.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Justin Johnson, God-son, Franco Mitchell, cousins/caregivers, Alfreda Easter and Darnell Elliott, his special friends, Roy Utsey, Destal and Janice Dixon and Sheldon Easter along with a host of friends, relatives and Pastor Larry Andrews and My Father’s House.

Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Young’s Chapel with Pastor Larry Andrews, Pastor Felton Burgie and Pastor Jerome Jenkins. Cremation services entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.

The family of Jimmy Johnson wishes to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has sent us love and kindness during this difficult time. We are grateful for every prayer, phone calls and comforting words and every act of kindness extended to our family.

We especially thank the Pastors, Ministers, and church family, friends, neighbors and medical staff. Words cannot fully express how much your love and support means to us.
