

Born on January 24, 1921 in Hadnall, England; she was the daughter of Albert and Doris Bradley Plews.
Joan was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and was a member of El Dorado Connections for 20 years. She volunteered at the Barton and Yocum Libraries, knitted hats for babies at the Little Rock Children’s’ Hospital, and involved with the Salvation Army Teddy Bears.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Newbrook, Roy Newbrook, Donald Plews and Godfrey Plews; sisters, Joyce Cummings, Dorothy Newbrook and Loys Plews; and a grandson, Lance Cpl. Anthony Richard Cribb.
Survivors are daughters, Joan (Wayne) Tribble, Dianne (Rick) Hammond all of El Dorado and Margaret (David) Henley of Friendswood, TX; sons, Richard Cribb and Walther (Carla) Cribb all of El Dorado, Karl ( Barbara) Cribb of Hot Springs, and Manfred (Margaret) Cribb of Oklahoma; along with 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman and Father Robert Allen officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Arlington Memorial Park. Grandsons, Tommy Hammond, Michael Tribble, Jason Cribb, Keith Cribb, Madison Law, J.B. Law, and Justin Law will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 12, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Directors.
