John Burt Simmons

Burt was retired from Murphy Oil Corporation and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death along with his parents, his first wife, Nelwyn Simmons; second wife, Martha Jane Simmons; son, Gregory Simmons; and brother, Milton Simmons.

Survivors include his son, Steven Burt Simmons of El Dorado; step-daughter, Lucy Arnold (Ray) of Springdale, AR; grandsons, Bryan Simmons (Pamela) of El Dorado, Mark Simmons (Charu) of Magnolia, AR, Aaron Tilton of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Lauren Tuggle (Branden) of Indianapolis, IN; ten great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Clark Whitney officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
