John Randolph Stanley—known as John to most, Randy to his family, and "Raggy" to his closest friends- passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 56. Born November 18, 1969 in Marietta, Georgia, he was the son of Terry Petty, Sr. and Judith Stringfellow Petty.
John was a locksmith and was also a sales manager at Ken's Discount. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with those who went before him, including his parents and his grandparents, Randolph and Mattie Stringfellow.
Survivors include his children, Caitlin Stanley, Gage Hix (Katie) and Dagen Hix along with the mother of his children, Amy Chitty. Also surviving are a brother, Terry Petty, Jr. (Polly) of Junction City, sisters, Debbie Ellis (Steve) of Ardmore, OK and Ronda Pill of El Dorado along with special cousins, Tanya Quillian (Mike) and Misty Tucker (Mike) all of Georgia and best friend, Reuben Long.
Throughout his final months, John viewed his illness not with despair, but as a profound blessing that brought loved ones closer together and deepened his walk with God. His family extends their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to everyone who surrounded him with love and support. Special thanks go to Ken and Delores Blackmon for their enduring kindness—John was truly blessed to have worked for you.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2026 at the Junction City Church of Christ with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Don Ossman officiating. Interment will follow in Wesson Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
