Born on September 17, 1951 in Smackover, AR; he was the son of Tommy and Opal McKnight Groves. Johnny was retired maintenance supervisor for Pilgrims Pride El Dorado plant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Marie Porter, Cathey Porter, and Nona Leopard.
Survivors are his sons, Christopher Groves and Gregory Groves (Mindy) all of El Dorado, AR; four grandchildren, Tristan Groves, Caleb Groves, Rebecca Self (Connor), Dillon Groves; and one great grandchild, Sadie Opal Self.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Murmil Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 7, at Murmil Baptist Church with Rev. Sye Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
