A vivid memory of Judy is one of her wonderful dinner parties where food was served on a variety of fine china.  After preparing food, setting tables and about to welcome guests, Judy stretched out on the kitchen floor declaring how much work it was to entertain.  Years ago, while Judy was at Calder Baptist,  my husband  experienced a deep depression. The day I was to drive him to Houston to be admitted to the hospital, I told Bill I really didn't want to go alone. Since family was far away, I asked him who to call.  I knew before he said her name that it would be Judy. Her presence was a comfort to us both. After several hours I found Judy waiting in an empty lobby of the hospital , feet in red tennis shoes, hanging off the end of an elegant couch. I watched Judy deal with difficult people, challenging circumstances and meetings with tension.  She led with such grace and calm that the outcome always felt ok.  She had wisdom and insight into people and situations.   Children, teenagers and adults equally loved  Judy.  She adored her family and bragged without shame about her nieces and nephews.  How fortunate we all were to have known Judy.

I am sad for your loss of dear Judy. She was one of the first people to welcome me to Calder Baptist Church decades ago.  I remember her sharp sense of humor, thoughtfulness, wisdom, and beautiful discipleship.   I’m certain those virtues grew with her years since Calder.  Many of us at Calder remember Judy fondly & share in your loss. ✝️

I worked with Judy when she first joined Gulf States. I worked out of Steno Pool & Judy was in Rate Department. I later worked for L.M. Welch & Rex Lee. Judy & I shared many stories in the Rate Department. Mr. Mortimer was head of Rate Department. Great people in that department. Busy times but fun times. I lost track of Judy. She was a very intelligent person.

Judy and I worked together for a number of years.  She was smart and no nonsense but always a help.  The world is a lesser place with her passing.   

I had the pleasure of working with Judy on a special project at Gulf States Utilities.  She was very smart and a dedicated employee.  I am sure she is missed by her family and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear about Judy’s passing.  She was always so kind to me when I called for help with a problem.  She was one of the smartest people I’ve ever been around and so humble!  

Judy worked with me at Entergy after our merger with Gulf States Utilities.  She was honest and hard working and dedicated to doing right things right. She was a team player. I shall miss her.

So sorry for your loss, she was a wonderful woman. She will be missed.

Judy was a dear friend to me. She was one of the first people to welcome me to PHBC. We got to know each other so well through the years through many activities at church. I always looked forward to Saturdays in the summer spending time with Judy at the Farmer’s Market. Judy loved her PHBC family and you could typically always find her helping in some area at the church. After she got sick, we still shared many great conversations and visits that I hold so dear. Our last visit together in February was full of so much laughter and sharing of memories.  She is already so missed! Prayers to Jan and all of her extended family that she cherished. 

Judy was a “bright light” to my wife Nancy and me. We were on a care team with her for five years for an Alzheimer’s patient. We will continue to care for the patient but we will miss her caring spirit and her dependability. We had several meaningful visits with Judy when she was in hospice in Little Rock and by phone when we was at El Dorado.  She was one of those special people that we will never forget.
