

Judy was born on October 9,1948, in El Dorado, AR to Albert Wilson “AW” and Joy Angeline “Ann” Chenoweth. Raised with strong values of hard work, kindness, and humility, she carried those principles throughout her life and shared them generously with everyone she met.
A graduate of Smackover High School, class of 66’, Judy built a respectable career working in insurance, serving Camden, El Dorado, Smackover, AR, and Lockport, LA. She also spent her time
cleaning houses for the people of Smackover.
Judy found joy in fishing, spending time with her family, gardening, and spending time on the sand bar. She and her husband were known for the “Drum Rodeo” that they hosted on the Ouachita River
every year for many years. She was known for her sharp wit and her willingness to go out of her way for the people she loved.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Michael “Shotgun” Ellenburg; their children, Jenann Pearson (Michael) of Louann, AR, Jeri Lynn Champagne of Gheens, LA, Nancy Ellenburg-
Lawson (Zachary) of Haughton, LA, and Marion Ellenburg-Lawson (Steve) of Spearsville, LA; her grandchildren, Nicholas “Nick” Champagne (Candice) of Bayou Blue, LA, Christopher “Chris”
Champagne (Brandi) of Raceland, LA, Dallas “Layne” Lawson (Andrea) of Spearsville, LA, James “Tyler” Lawson (Molly) of West Monroe, LA, Kelsey Allen and CoraMae Lawson of Haughton, LA,
Colby Pearson (Lilah) of El Dorado, AR, and Sadie Pearson of Louann, AR; as well as 13 great grandchildren, one brother David Chenoweth (Janet), and many friends. She is also survived by her
special friends, Mary Champagne of Gheens, LA and Linda Harper of Louann, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, AW and Ann Chenoweth and her younger brother, Albert Wilson “Dub” Chenoweth.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR. The family asks that you wear bright colors to
honor Judy.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of Arbor Hospice, friends, and neighbors who offered support and compassion during Judy’s final months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smackover First United Methodist Church, Attn: Children’s Ministry, Smackover, AR.
