Born October 22, 1932 in El Dorado she was the daughter of Lawrence Edward and Annie Francis Oldeman Smith. Mrs. Murray retired after twenty eight years of teaching in the Parker's Chapel School District. She was a member of the Newell Extension Homemakers Club and 4-H leader for seventy five years during which she was an avid participant and judge in the Union County Fair. She enjoyed camping, sewing, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a lifetime member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband, Bill Murray, a son, William Michael Murray and an infant grandson, Preston William Murray, the son of Don and Lisa Murray along with brothers, Robert Burton Smith and Richard James Smith and sisters, Pat Wilson and Annette Tackett Gray.
Survivors include a daughter, Becky Riggs (Gerald), four sons, Tim Murray (Debbie), Don Murray (Lisa) and Joe Murray (Georgia) all of El Dorado and Roy Murray (Amy) of Fordyce, AR. Also surviving is a sister, Helen Greany of Jacksonville, AR and 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2026 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
