Kenneth Hughes

Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Hughes, Sr., 56, of El Dorado, AR, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Baptist Health in Little Rock, AR. Kenny was born September 24, 1968, in Houston, TX, to Robert Marion Hughes, Sr. and Patsy Ann Howard Hughes.

Kenny was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished brother, uncle, and friend. Family was the center of his world, and he loved nothing more than spending time with those he cared about most. Kenny also had a passion for the outdoors—whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply appreciating nature, he found peace and joy there.

Kenny will be remembered for his generous heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. He had a way of making those around him feel valued and loved, and his laughter could brighten any room. His legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sylvia Hughes; his son, Kenneth Wayne Hughes, Jr. (Kaylee) of El Dorado, AR; and his daughters, Brianna Covington (Sean) of Camden, AR, Destiny Hughes (Brianna) of Benton, AR, and AnnMarie Hughes (Joseph Henry) of El Dorado, AR. He also leaves behind two brothers, Robert Hughes, Jr. (Libby) and Michael Hughes (Erica), both of El Dorado, AR; and nine grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life: Landon, Aubrey, Dakota, Clay, Paisley, Mariana, Leia, Jensen, and Raisley. Kenny will also be remembered fondly by a host of extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marion Hughes, Sr. and Patsy Ann Howard Hughes, and his nephew, Justin Hughes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado, AR. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM, with a celebration of Kenny’s life following at 2:00 PM, officiated by Brother Doyce Whitten and Brother Robert Hughes, Jr.
