Born July 1, 1959, in Paris, Texas, he was the son of Charlie Yzar Simmons and Ruth Margarite Marlow Simmons. He was a self-employed diesel mechanic.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Debbie Pauline Simmons Lynn and brother, Jerry Donald Sharp.
Survivors include wife, Leita Mae Simmons, El Dorado; daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Simmons (Charles Jennings) Holland, Texas, Kimberly Ann Simmons (Carl Brooks), El Dorado; brothers, Kenneth Ray Sharp (Stormy) and Charlie Bob Simmons (Charlette) all of Paris, Texas; grandchildren, Tyler Preston Jennings and Carly Ann Brooks; step son, Jimmy Lee Golden; and numerous cousins.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
