Michael Van Giles

Born December 24, 1966 in El Dorado, he was the son of Van and Janyce Hudson Giles. Mike was a jack-of-all-trades and previously owned Giles Roofing. Mike was saved in the Baptist church and was a member of Calion First Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and hang out with his friends.

Preceding him in death along with his father was a brother, Jamie Giles, maternal grandparents Alfred and Mary Hudson and paternal grandparents, James and Polly Giles.

Survivors include his wife Susan Myers Giles of Norphlet, son, Christopher Giles of Kirbyville, TX and daughters, LaQuita Haynes of Searcy, AR, Kristen Giles of Kirbyville, Brianna Vines and Savanna Vines both of Calion along with his mother, Janyce Hudson of Calion. He is also survived by his step-children Kelsey Hansen of Searcy, AR and Tristan Hansen of Norphlet and a sister, Sarah Johnson of Grand Junction, CO, four grandchildren and an aunt, Rosemary Hadden of Kirbyville, TX. Mike is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Calion with Rev. Mark Staples and Rev. Sye Duke officiating. Visitation will begin at noon at the church and continue until service time.

Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Parker, Kirk Hudson, Derin Chandler, Gary Wadlington, Ryan Hudson, Shelby Hudson, Jonathan Hudson and Stanley Nipper, Shane Gibbons.
