Mike was born in Fort Worth, Texas, May 6, 1952, to Mildred Marcel Jacobs and Schuyler Charles Jacobs.
Mike graduated from El Dorado High School in 1972. He went to work for Milam in March of 1997, and was still employed there at the time of his death. Milam was very understanding about his illness through the years, especially this last year. He said they were the best employer of anywhere.
Mike was Past President of the Theater Steering Committee at the South Arkansas Arts Center; a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as interim youth director, Sunday School teacher, and on the Deacon and Elder Board.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Edna House and Marvin House; and his paternal grandparents, Willy and Myrtle Jacobs.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Emory Jacobs and David Oberembt; his brother, Charles Jacobs; his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and James Mitchell; his mother-in-law, Lavenia Craig; his brother-in-law, Kirby Craig, and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was someone you always wanted to sit by at a party, the best company in town, and had a razor wit about him that would keep you in stitches. He kept his sense of humor right up until the end. He was a really nice guy. He will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado on Sunday, May 4th, at 2:00. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Arkansas Arts Center, 110 East Fifth, El Dorado, Arkansas 71730; or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
An online guest registry will be available at www.youngsfuneralhome.com
