She was born June 8, 1936, into the home of Jessie Lee Jerry and Gertie Hill Jerry. Those passing before her were her parents; her brother, Bennie Jerry; and her sisters Olene Mooty and Fernell Krohn. Those surviving her are her husband of 68 years, Milam Joe Williams and her sister, Virginia Barnes.
Nadine graduated from El Dorado High School as Valedictorian. She continued her education, receiving her PTS degree (Putting Joe Through Engineering) at the University of Arkansas. Nadine worked for Lion Oil Company for thirty-nine years, serving as Secretary and retired September 1, 1998, as the Office Manager for Lion Oil Pipeline Department.
Nadine's life-long service to her Lord and Savior was playing piano for Marrable Hill Chapel in El Dorado. She also served in AWANAS (Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed) department for children. She and Joe also served many years in the teen ministry at Marrable Hill Chapel. Victory Bible Camp is the most rewarding service for the Lord that one could have Nadine served faithfully through the years.
Nadine was ready to go and be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was very concerned about those who had not received Christ, especially any of her family members. During the last two weeks of her life, she asked her care givers to contact the people she loved to make sure she would see them in heaven.
Nadine was a reader of all the Christian books she could find. She read her Bible every day, memorized Scripture, and kept a prayer list in her journal.
Her first business each day was to have her coffee and work the crossword puzzle from the El Dorado News times. She loved playing tennis with her dear sister in Christ, Yvonne Sharp. Fishing trips with Joe, Nelma and Dub Martin, and Bill and Sherryl Miller at Harbor Light in Hemphill, Texas, were some of her favorite vacations. She and Joe were blessed to have traveled to many of God's beautiful places in this Country.
Joe is extremely grateful to all who have prayed for Nadine and for him during this terrible time fighting cancer. He is also grateful to the staff of Hospice. He gives special thanks to the special friends who have looked after them these last weeks.
