She graduated from Village High School and took business courses at Draughon Business College.
Nell and Truman fell in love some 50 years ago and had a wonderful life together. They were best friends and enjoyed concerts and travel. Their travels took them to all 50 states, all Canadian Provinces, Austria, New Zealand and most of Western Europe. Her favorite was Canada and least favorite St. Petersburg, Russia.
She genuinely loved people, her church, and Sunday school class where she taught in kindergarten in earlier years.
Nell retired after an enjoyable career of 30 years in various positions at Murphy Oil Corporation, she enjoyed the people there and made many friends there.
Nell is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Roy Rogers, Jr., Wilson Rogers and Bob Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, James Truman Channell; and three sisters, Lorene Cheatham of Smackover, Nancy Smith (Denny) of Little Rock and Sally McLaurin of Vivian, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, January 28, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Bush officiating. The family requests that all in attendance wear a mask.
