Patricia A Garrison

May 24, 1941October 13, 2021

Patricia Ann "Patty" Garrison, 80, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born May 24, 1941 to William and Dorothy Smith King in Memphis, TN.

Patty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed. She loved her family and loved being together with family. Patty was a great cook and enjoyed cooking large meals for family and friends and special events at church. She and Irv were in charge of the bereavement ministry at Cross Life Church for many years and cooked many meals for families that were going through such an event as this. Patty and Irv also volunteered at the Hospice House for approximately ten years where she cooked and served families, if you look in her kitchen, there are over 10 large crock pots that were frequently used to serve and carry food to those in need. Patty was well known for her Chocolate pies.

Patty loved to go fishing and got a lot of joy fishing with Michael when he came to visit.

Patty became a believer in God at an early age and strived to live her life for God. She made sure her children and grandchildren knew about God and took them to church as much as possible. She loved her church family at First Assembly and greatly missed not being able to go to church since Covid and her own health issues.

Patty also loved Gospel singing and would travel around the area to hear a good Gospel Quartet.

Preceding her in death are her parents; one brother, William King; and one sister, Beverly Jean King.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Irv Garrison of El Dorado; one son, Michael Hooks of Richmond, MO; one daughter, Melissa Hooks of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Haley Hooks, Jonathan Hooks (Sierra), and Blake Hooks (Morgan); two great grandchildren, Elina Hooks and Marleigh Grace Hooks; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the El Dorado First Assembly of God Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to El Dorado First Assembly, 2225 W. Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730.

Condolences may be expressed online at www.youngsfuneralhome.com for the Garrison family.
