

Patricia Mae Giles Thomey, 87, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 19, 1929 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Roy and Gladys McCuistion Giles.
She graduated from El Dorado High School. While working at her father’s pharmacy, she met the love of her life, Bernard. They were married November 24, 1948 and were happily married for almost 48 years. Together they raised six children.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In earlier years she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing golf, painting, cross stitching, and playing train dominoes with her Saturday afternoon friends. She later devoted her time to volunteering at the Medical Center of South Arkansas as a “Pink Lady”. To all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of their friends, she was simply known as “Nonnie”.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Roy Giles, Jr., her husband, Bernard F. Thomey; and her grandson, Zachary B. Thomey.
Survivors include her children, Susan Parker (Charles) of Herndon, VA, Gary Thomey (Jean) of Leesburg, VA, Teresa Ramirez (Victor) of Midland, MI, Jayne Sewell (Mike) of El Dorado, AR, Stephen Thomey (Kim) of El Dorado, AR, Jimmy Thomey (Becky) of El Dorado, AR.
Surviving grandchildren include Wes Parker (Crystal) of Melbourne, FL, Jeffrey Parker (Caroline) of Purcellville, VA, Patricia Petrilla (Mike) of New Kensington, PA, Whitney McKim (Steve) of Lovettsville, VA, Anthony Ramirez (fiancé Kristen Aufiero) of New York, NY, Allison Ramirez de Burgos (Jose) of San Salvador, El Salvador, Jeremy Sewell of Longwood, FL, Hank Sewell (Jennifer) of Montgomery, TX, Caleb Thomey of El Dorado, AR, Andrew Thomey of El Dorado, AR, Brittney Johnson of El Dorado, AR, Blake Thomey of El Dorado, AR, Brandon Thomey of El Dorado, AR.
She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Elijah Sewell of Longwood, FL, Hope Sewell and Hailey Sewell both of Montgomery, TX, Calli Petrilla of New Kensington, PA, and Emi McKim of Lovettsville, VA.
Serving as pallbearers will be all of her grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 with Rosary following at 8:00 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Edward D’Almeida officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
