Paul Davis Gathright, 95, of Port Neches, TX, formerly of Huttig, AR, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Bonne Vie Nursing and Rehab in Port Arthur, TX. He was born May 17, 1927 to Jeff Davis and Arlene Fike Gathright in Huttig, AR.
He was employed in the wood industry and retired from Riverwood International in 1982. Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling with his family. He always cherished the happy times that he spent sharing his hunting and fishing skills with his grandsons. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huttig.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and wife, Perry Jean Gathright.
Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Nelson (Billy), Cynthia Gathright; grandsons, Nate Nelson (Anna), Sam Nelson (Sarah); great grandchildren, Nathaniel Nelson, Noah Nelson, Spencer Nelson, Harper Nelson, Isla Nelson, Paul Davis Nelson, Ollie Nelson; and sister, Virginia Harper.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Young’s Funeral Directors. A graveside service will immediately follow at Teel Cemetery with M. L. "Buddy" Lowery officiating under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
