Paula D. Gilbert, 64, of Smackover, passed away, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 2, 1958 to William R. and Barbara Baker Gilbert in Beaumont, TX.
She was employed at West Side Baptist Church Daycare and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smackover.
Paula loved the New Orleans Saints and was a dedicated fan, when she wasn't cheering on the 50 yard line she played Bunco with many friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved cat.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, William R. Gilbert.
She will be greatly missed by her mother, Barbara Gilbert; brother, Jim Gilbert (Sherry); sister, Valerie McGaugh (Lou); and nieces and nephew, Molly and William McGaugh, and Elizabeth Denny.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Young's.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Smackover with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers: Louis McGaugh, Will McGaugh, Jim Golden, Mark Corley, Chris Long and Tim Gilbert.
