Penny was preceded in death by her parents Herbert Pendleton Freeman, Sr. and Ann H. Freeman; sister Patsy Jean O'Quinn, brothers Herbert "Herbie" Freeman, Jr., Kenneth (Bud) Banks and Carlos (Mike) Banks.
Penny is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Don of Alabama; daughters Paige (Scott) Thomasino of Alabama, Stacey (Wayne) Morris of El Dorado; son Chris (Cindy) Frisby of El Dorado; sisters Elizabeth Ann Lacewell of El Dorado, Dorothy Ann Schipper and Linda (Randy) Wilson of Indiana and a brother Thomas (Tommy) Freeman of Missouri as well as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Penny was a stay at home mom while her children were in school and devoted her time to volunteering at school, she served as campfire leader and director of the Tac House. Later she furthered her education and became a nurse and was very passionate about it.
Penny was known for her contagious laughter and making others laugh. She loved to cook and bake which was passed down to some of her grandkids.
She was always doing crafts, a trait inherited by her daughters and granddaughters. Penny loved her family and her fur babies. She had a strong faith and trusted the Lord knowing she would be completely healed one day and have eternal life. She will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be held at Smyrna Cemetery, Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:30 under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors with Bro. John Ayres officiating. Visitation will be held at Mt. Union Baptist Church from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M. prior to the graveside.
The family would like to thank Dr. Moore and his staff at North Shelby Family Health, especially Wanda for their wonderful care over the years, the MICU nurses and staff at Shelby Baptist. The children would like to give special thanks to Don who loved and cared for their mom over the years and never left her side. We are forever grateful for loving our mom the way you did.
