He was born August 28, 1953 in El Dorado, he is the son of Jodie Byrd and Vera Jane Compton Ellen who preceded him in death. After graduating high school in El Dorado in 1971 he attended the University of Arkansas At Monticello. He also attended Elkins Institute in Dallas where he studied electronics. Philip joined the Navy in 1976 and was honorably discharged in1982. Philip had been employed with AP&L for 6 1/2 years and then retired from working with the Arkansas Department of Health as a water tester throughout the state for 14 years.
Survivors include many cousins and friends.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 1:00PM, at Brown Cemetery at Three Creeks with Military Honors.
