

Clay graduated from El Dorado High School with the class of 1976, and completed his Associates Degree in Electronics from Southern Technical College in 1986, where he then moved to Dallas, Texas to work for Texas Instruments and subsequently Raytheon Defense Systems for almost thirty years. Clay was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed all things related to the Arkansas Razorbacks, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. He was a passionate golfer, and could be found spending his free time on many of the courses in the Dallas area. In addition, he loved the outdoors and hunting where he spent much time with family and friends hunting deer and pheasant. Later in life, he enjoyed his love of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spent many weekends riding throughout the Dallas Metroplex with his friends. In addition to these hobbies, Clay spent his time teaching Sunday School to teenagers in his home church as well as serving as a baseball umpire in various youth leagues in the Dallas area.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Shane Hendricks (Kristy) of Frisco, Texas and nieces Sydney and Alexa Hendricks.
The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7th. Services will be held at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado on Thursday, January 8th at 11:00 AM with Tommy Hubbard officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Local arrangements are through Young's Funeral Directors.
A fund has been setup with the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club in Clay’s name for those who wish to make a donation in his honor.
